#THROWBACKTHURSDAY: FAVOURITE GIRL GROUPS OF ALL TIME.

Hey people! Today’s Thursday and you know what that means right? *drum roll please* IT’S THROWBACK DAY! TBT is a special day dedicated to reminiscing about the good ol’ days. It has been a while since I last made a #tbt post so this is exciting! Today’s post is all about girl power as I’ll be sharing some of my favourite girl groups from back in the day. The list is in no particular order. 🙂

SPICE GIRLS.

L-R: Scary Spice, Baby Spice, Posh Spice, Ginger Spice and Sporty Spice

Unarguably one of the most successful girl groups in history, the English pop group was formed in 1994 and consisted of Melanie Brown (Scary), Emma Bunton (Baby), Victoria Beckham (Posh), Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty). Some of their chart topping singles include Wannabe, Spice up your life, Say you’ll be there and Viva Forever.

DESTINY’S CHILD.

Long before there was Queen Bey, there was Destiny’s child. The trio of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams garnered critically acclaimed success as Destiny’s child, churning out major hit singles like Independent Women, Survivor, Bootylicious, and Say My Name. Following their 2006 split, the girls have also come to achieve varying measures of musical success in their respective solo careers.

TLC.

L-R: Left Eye, T-Boz and Chilli

TLC was an American girl group composed of Tionne ‘T-Boz‘ Watkins, Lisa ‘Left Eye‘ Lopes and Rozonda ‘Chilli‘ Thomas. Ranked as one of the greatest musical trios by Billboard magazine, some of their hit singles include Unpretty, Waterfalls, Creep and No scrubs.
Following the untimely death of Left Eye in 2002, the group never really regained much of its musical prowess.

THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS.

L-R: Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta, Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton and Ashley Roberts.

Founded in 1995 by choreographer Robin Antin, the Pussycat Dolls dominated the charts in the early 2000s with hot singles like Don’t Cha, Stickwitu, I Hate This Part and Jai Ho (You are my Destiny). Sadly, the group split in 2010 after a brief hiatus and not much has been heard from them since.

And that’s it! Do you have any favourites? Which other group do you think should have made the list? Share your thoughts.

  1. Stickwitu – my jam for life lol but Nicole was such a selfish leader 😒. I thought the other girls were just her dancers at first, I don’t think any of them ever had their own solo verses on any of their songs.

    1. I know right. I heard that was the major reason they split because the other girls felt like they were living in Nicole’s shadow which is true. But I gotta give it to them tho, they had jamz! 😀 😀
