Hi guys! Hope you had a fantastic New Year’s celebration? I did. 2015 was a fantastic beauty year, no doubt. Contouring, anyone? But it’s 2016 y’all and things are going in a whole new direction. So what should we expect this year? Let’s take a quick look at some of the beauty trends to look out for in 2016…
1). Glittery Lids.
While amping up your eye makeup with glitter became really popular in late 2015, this trend is showing no sign of going away anytime soon.
2). Smoky Eyes.
Smoky eyes are far from being a new trend. But this year will see beauty professionals take a more subtle approach to the classic look.
3). Bold Lips.
Bye bye blue! It’s time to say goodbye to some of the crazy shades that ruled 2015 and embrace the neutral and classic shades like nude, pink, red and burgundy.
4). Tailored Nails.
While bubble and coffin nails had quite a moment in 2015, this year is all about the more natural nail shape whether long or short.
5). French Tips.
Sure, your average thin (not thick!) French tip is still classy, but this year take your nail art game to the next level, creating a new twist on the French tip like the photo above.
6). Short Hair.
In case you haven’t noticed, long bobs are taking over one celebrity at a time — and the cropped cut is showing zero signs of slowing down. This year, you might be so inclined to add bangs into the mix.
7) Glowing Skin.
Strobing got a little out of hand in 2015, so a good way to reel it in is with a healthy glow that gives your skin a subtle sheen rather than a bright spotlight on your skin. Pat a little clear lip gloss on the high points of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and your eyelids for an instant glow.
8). Subtle Contouring.
Skip clown contouring this year and instead, “spot treat” your face by choosing one area to accentuate, like your cheekbones, jawline, or nose rather than all three, so you look more naturally contoured.
9). Hair Accessories.
The don’t-care cool-girl look is still very much in, but this year it’s all about sporting effortless styles adorned with an accessory or two.
10). Normally Lined Lips.
Prepare to kiss the Kylie Lip Challenge goodbye in 2016 because now it’s all about embracing what you’ve got.
